Movids II: The Summer Roast

May's here and thus what is traditionally referred to as the "summer movie season" is in the air. It's that time of year when Hollywood unleashes their tentpoles to cater to the masses and gobble up revenue at the B.O. Of course the landscape these days is overpopulated and not every movie will be as good as the other, so the question is:

Which movies will hit the top, and which movies will be a flop?

Here are, according to www.comingsoon.net, on which I duly agree, 10 of the biggest movies to hit the silver screen this summer.

See you at the cinema!

watched Wolverine. nice. I think it's equivalent with the other X-men movies. though I was slightly disappointed when I saw Gambit.

4 stars out of 5.

waiting on Angels and Demons.

Bwah? I didn't really like Wolvie for the fact that the characterization was nothing more than a showcase of mutant abilities and because it looked cheap for movie which reportedly cost more than 100 mil USD (troubled production, btw). But I guess everybody's entitled to their own opinion. It did gross 87,5 mil USD on its opening weekend, but bad word-of-mouth won't give it a lot of legs over the season.

STAR TREK is my racehorse this summer, cause I always get turned on by the old school matinee (SW, Supes, Indy). The fact that it's still 100% fresh also doesn't hurt hehe.. Too bad it'll enter Indonesian shores in June 10th (DAMN), a month later than in Malaysia and Singapore.

yeah well, i kinda already saw the showcase coming before i watched it so no surprises there. it was pretty entertaining for "origin stories" anyway.

so, what else is good this summer?

sepertinya gue aga ga terlalu antusias antusias buat nonton X-Men Origin..Ntah kenapa..
Anton Yelchin itu...panjang umur bgt d..gue juga baru aja mau masukin dia ke blog gw..haha..pertama kali liat dia di alpha dog..eh terus liat lagi di criminal minds..makanya pengen bgt nonton dia di Star Trek sama terminator salvation..
So, I'll watch Terminator Salvation and tar Trek not because of Christian Bale or CHris pine and Zachary Quinto but because of Anton Yelchin..haha
